Adding Objectives and Key Results (Updated with Approval Flows)

Overview:

Our newest OKR module is out! The first step is to create the Objectives and Key Results then you can be on your way to achieving those goals!


Adding Objectives:

  • Go to Left Side Panel > OKR > Objectives > Add Objective


  • In the page you'll be brought to fill-up the fields accordingly. Below are descriptions of each field. 
    • Objective name - Enter a clear and concise sentence that describes the objective. E.g. Increase customer engagement through targeted campaigns.
    • Description - This is optional, but highly encouraged. You can provide a detailed and clear elaboration of the objective.
    • Objective owner - Can be yourself or your direct report.
    • Weightage point - Input a weightage point to define how important the objective is.
    • Priority - You can choose the priority level for the objective. The highest is P1 -Very high, and the lowest is P5 - Very low
    • Objective Period - Choose from the options in the dropdown. Can only be current year, subsequent 1 year, current quarter, or subsequent 3 quarters.


 

Adding Key Results:

  • Still in the Add Objectives page, click Add Key Result and a pop-up should appear.


  • Fill-up the fields accordingly. 
    • Key Result Name - Enter a clear statement detailing what will be continuously measured to assess achievement of the objective. 
    • Description - This is optional but encouraged. You can elaborate more on the details of the key result. 
    • Weightage Point - Input a weightage point to define how important the key result is. E.g. You have 2 key results, you can set 50 as the weightage point for each to give them equal importance. 
    • Metric - Set how the key result will be measured. You can choose from numerical, monetary, percentage, or qualitative. If you chose any of the first 3 options, the system will make you input a start and a target figure. E.g. start is 0, then target is 100 
    • Activities - This is also optional but highly encouraged. You can outline key activities and projects you/the direct report will focus on to achieve the goals.



  • Click Save Key Result.



Who can edit & view?

  • Set users who can view in this section. By default, only the objective owners and their direct managers can edit and view.


  • In the dropdown "Who else can view?", choose other users in your Omni HR that can view the OKR. 
  • Once done, click Save Objective.


OKRs to be reviewed by Managers

  • If your company requires OKRs to be reviewed and approved by your manager, you will see the below options



  • Save Objective = Your Objective & Key Results will be shown as For Submission and stored as draft(s). This allows you to have time to draft your objectives & key results before you are ready to send them for your manager's review. 



  • Send For Approval = Your Objective & Key Results will be shown as Pending Approval. This will be sent to your manager for their review and approval. 



Submitting draft objective and key results to your manager

  • Once you are ready to submit a draft objective and key result for approval, you can click the 3 Dots next to an OKR with status = For Submission > Edit Objective > Send For Approval


Bulk Submission

  • You can submit all objectives and key results that are currently on For Submission status in bulk for approval by your manager. 
  • To do this, just click Submit For Approval and you will be prompted with a pop-up below for confirmation



Approval or Rejected Notification

  • Once your Manager approves your objective & key result, it will be shown as below:



  • You will also be notified via email if your OKR was approved or rejected
