Bulk Import OKR

Overview:

Admins can bulk import OKR via Omni to reduce the time and steps needed to create OKR for multiple employees at a time.

Step 1: Download/Make a copy of the template from this link

Step 2: Fill-up the template accordingly. For example, you can refer to the below example of the objective & key results we have filled in for a sample employee.

Here are some things to remember about the template as you are filling it up:

Part 1: Filling in the Objectives

  • For "Column A [Objective Owner (email)]", you can fill in the work or personal email from the objective owner's account. This will required by the system to identify and assign the OKR to the correct objective owner.
    • When starting a new row for each objective, you will need to fill in the email address of the objective owner. This will ensure the objective and its key results will be assigned correctly.
  • For "Column B, E" are required fields, while "Column C & D" are optional fields.
  • For "Column D [Objective Priority]", you can fill in P1, P2, P3, P4 or P5, depending on the priority you wish to set for the objective. (P1 - Very high, P2 - High, P3 - Medium, P4 - Low & P5 - Very Low)
  • For "Column E", please input only whole numbers and not values with decimals. Also recommend to format as TEXT.
  • For "Column F- H" are required fields, and this is how it should be filled.
    • If period is custom, fill in Custom period in Column F, then indicate the dates in Columns G and H. Tips:
      (1) The date format should follow DD/MM/YYYY. It is advised to format the date in TEXT, rather than NUMBER.
      (2) Type in Custom period as the format shown as this is case sensitive.
    • If period is one of the default (Q1 2025, H1 2025, 2025), fill in Column F and keep Columns G and H blank. Also recommended to import in as TEXT.
  • For "Column I [Who else can view this objective (Email)]", you can fill in the work or personal email of which other user is able to view these objectives. By default, only the objective owners and their direct managers can edit & view. This is an optional field.
    • For multiple viewers, you can fill in the email addresses, separated with a comma.

Part 2: Filling in the Key Results under each objective

  • To start filling in the key results for a specific objective:
    • If Objective 1 is on Row 1, start filling in the first key result in Row 2, second key result in Row 3, and so on. Leave Row 1, columns J-Q blank.
    • You will focus on filling in the key result details from "Columns J-Q".
    • For "Column J, L, M, N*, O, P", are required fields. "Column K & Q"are optional fields.
    • For "Column L, O & P", please input only whole numbers and not values with decimals. Also recommend to format as TEXT.
  • Column M (Key result metric unit) options are: Numerical, Monetary, Percentage, Time & Qualitative
  • Column N (Key result currency) is a required field only if key result metric unit is monetary

Step 3. Upload and import the template in your Omni URL through "(company name).omnihr.co/new-import". For example, if your Omni URL is omnihr.omnihr.co, you will want to upload through "omnihr.omnihr.co/new-import". Choose the option 'Bulk upload OKR'

  • IMPORTANT: Please remove all helper text in rows 1, 3, 6, 9 before uploading the template.

Step 4: Upon import, you will be receiving an email with an attached file which you may check to see if all the entries are updated / imported successfully. It will indicate 'Success!' if the row is upload successfully; otherwise, it will show the details why it did not push through. Adjust the upload template accordingly if with failed entries, then try uploading again.

Step 5: If you wish to view the uploaded OKR for the employees (you have view permissions for), you can do so by going to OKR > Objectives > Others that I can view. You will be able to click on the employee and review the list of OKRs

  • You can see that based on the template filled and imported in, the objectives and key results will be reflected accordingly on the system.
