Overview :

Changed your mind about canceling your time off? No problem, we’ve got you covered. Employees can reverse a time off cancellation request that has already been submitted. Whether your plans shifted again or you simply reconsidered, this feature puts flexibility back in your hands, no need to start a new request from scratch.

Let’s walk you through how it works!

Withdrawing cancellation request

  1. Employee who initiated a cancellation request can choose to withdraw the request, if and when they’ve decided that they no longer want to proceed with the request
  2. Employee will need to confirm the withdrawal
  3. Once confirmed, the request’s status reverts to Approved
  4. The cancellation approval timeline will be greyed out, indicating the cancellation is no longer under review

Points to Note :

  • Employees can still update approved time off requests without triggering an approval in the system
  • However : Employees are not allowed to cancel a time off request if it has been updated after approval.
  • If you try to cancel an updated request, you’ll see a message saying this action isn’t allowed
  • Instead, your approver/managers can reject the updated request — this has the same effect as a cancellation (the time off is returned to your balance)

Employees unable to apply for overlapping Time Off if existing Time Off is in For Cancellation status

  • A time off request in For Cancellation status is still considered active until fully cancelled.

Therefore, if you attempt to apply for new time off that overlaps with a request in For Cancellation status, the system will prevent the new request.

Admin : Cancel Time Off on behalf of other employees

  • Admins with Request / update / cancel time off for other employees permission are allowed to cancel approved time off request on behalf of other employees
  • If the time off type of the approved time off request requires cancellation approval, it will be subject to the same cancellation approval workflow
