Overview:

The Access Control is where the admin can configure the permissions for different roles users take. It is divided into 2 sections — Role's access to Employee profiles and Role's access to system functions. We'll discuss in this article how you can configure Role's access to Employee profiles.

Role's access to Employee profiles

  • To access this, go to Access Control > Click any role, then go to Role's access to Employee profiles

  • This section indicates what employee information the user can view only, edit, or have no access at all. It is divided into 2 columns.
    • Self Profile - This indicates what the user can view only, edit, or have no access at all in his/her own info.

    • Other Employees - This indicates what the user can view only, edit, or have no access at all for other users and varies per role. It is indicated as "Direct and Indirect Reports" for Employees and Managers, and "All Employees (Except Self)" for Admins and new roles created.

It is also divided further into rows/sections which indicate the different tabs in the Employee Profile — HR profile, Payroll, Onboarding, Offboarding, Time off, Documents, Payslips, Tasks.

  •  To start, expand the section you want to edit the access to by clicking the + sign next to the section name.

  • Among the information available, choose which you want to edit access to, and edit accordingly by clicking on the icons below the Self Profile and the Other Employees columns. Below are the icons and what they refer to.
    • Pencil icon - indicates that the information can be edited.
    • Eye icon - indicates that the information can be read only.
    • "Not allowed" icon - indicates that the information cannot be accessed (edited or read).

After you're already done with the configurations, you can already Save, or we can also already move on to the next section to further edit the access, Role's access to system functions.
