Overview:
You can now configure approval flows for when users edit different sections of the employee profile.
Grant access to Approval Flows
- If the admin has the necessary permissions under Settings > Access Control > Approval flows (for employee profile), a new "Approval Flows" tab will appear next to "Access Control" in the Settings. This is where the admin can set up approval flows.
Set Up Approval Flows
- Step 1: Click on Add Approval Rule to open the modal for creating a new approval rule.
- Step 2: You can select the roles that require edit approval and choose the applicable sections for the approval rule. Currently, only the Basic and Bank Information sections are available, but more will be added in the future.
- Step 3: Define the approval flow by specifying who needs to approve edits.
For instance, employees assigned the Employee role will require approval when updating their Basic section—provided they already have “Edit” access to that section.
Click Save when you have selected your options. - After you have saved the approval flow rule, you can rank the approval rule by moving the row.
Note: If multiple approval rules exist for the same role and section, the rule at the top takes priority and will be applied.
Requirement for the approval rule to be effective:
- If we have approval rules set up for a role, we still need the employee in that role to first be given Edit access so that the employee can try to edit information in the first place.
- To provide the role the edit access, you can head to Settings > Access Control and search for the role you need to edit the access.
