How to Enable Managers to View & Edit Timesheet

Modified on Mon, 25 Aug at 11:33 AM

Overview

Access to view or edit timesheets is controlled through Access Control. By adjusting permissions, you can decide whether managers can view only or also edit their employees’ timesheets.

Steps to Enable Timesheet Access for Managers

1. Go to Access Control

(a) Navigate to Settings > Access Control.

(b) Select the role you want to configure. This process applies to any role you wish to grant the same access. For this example, we will use "Manager".

2. Locate Manager Access Settings

(a) Scroll down to Manager’s Access to System Functions.

(b) Expand the Attendance section.

3. Set Viewing Permissions

(a) To allow managers to view timesheets without editing, check View timesheet of other employees.

(b) Under Additional settings available, select the group of employees they can access.

(c) The most common option is Direct Reports, which limits access to employees reporting to them in the org chart.

4. Set Editing Permissions (Optional)

(a) If managers should also be able to edit timesheets, check Edit timesheet of other employees.

(b) Under Additional settings available, select the group of employees they can edit.

5. Save Your Changes in Access Control

6. Use "Tracker" to View / Edit Attendance

(a) Once saved, managers will see Tracker under the Attendance menu. Only managers with those permissions can see "Tracker" in their Attendance menu.

(b) Depending on the permissions you set, they will be able to view or view and edit the timesheets of their employees.
