Overview:

If you're a manager, usually, part of your role will be to approve/reject time off requests of your direct reports. We'll learn how to do just that in this article.

There are 2 ways you can approve/reject time off requests.

Via email:

  • You will receive an email every time your direct report files a request.

  • In it you'll find a brief summary of the request which includes Employee name, Time off type, Remarks, Time off days, Duration, and Status.
  • You can choose to approve/reject by clicking the approve and reject buttons in the middle of the email. It will lead you to another page, with the message being approved successfully or rejected successfully depending on the button clicked.

  • If you need to review first, you can click the Review Request button at the bottom, and it will lead you to the page with the full details of the leave.

Via Tasks:

  • You can also go to the To-dos menu in your left side panel > Time Off > Click the Time off Request in the page.

  • Review the details > Click Approve/Reject.

If the time off request has been approved, you should see it in the employee's calendar with a color shade set by the admin for the time off type. If the request has been rejected, it should disappear from the calendar.
