Pay Run Sync Errors: How to Troubleshoot

Modified on Tue, 26 Aug at 11:18 AM

Syncing a pay run can sometimes trigger validation errors that prevent the process from completing successfully. To resolve these issues quickly, it’s important to understand the steps involved and where to check for specific details.

1. Watch for the Validation Email Alert

(a) When a pay run sync encounters an error, the system will display an alert indicating that a validation email will be sent to the admin account used to initiate the sync.

(b)Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for the validation email.

(c) The email will typically arrive within a few minutes after the error occurs.

Note: This email contains critical details about why the sync failed.

Tip: Make sure the admin email address is active and accessible. If you don’t receive the email, confirm that the system has the correct admin email registered under your profile.

2. Review the Validation Error Details

(a) If the sync error is marked as a validation error, you will need to check the attached file in the validation email.

(b) Open the email and locate the attachment (often a CSV or text file).

(c) The file will list specific issues that prevented the pay run from syncing.

Common validation errors may include:

  • Missing or invalid employee details
  • Missing required values
  • Missing field mapping for pay type
  • Missing or invalid bank details

3. Fix the Errors and Retry the Sync

Once you’ve identified the issues:

(a) Update the payroll data in your system according to the error details.

(b) Double-check for accuracy to prevent repeated validation failures.

(c) Re-run the pay run sync once all corrections are complete.

Note: If the error persists as below, it means there are still issues. Please check your inbox for a new validation email to fix the error.

4. Escalate if Needed
