Overview:
Once you're connected, you can talk to your AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor) in plain English and it'll handle Omni HR tasks behind the scenes. Things like:
- Finding employees and checking their profiles
- Looking up reporting lines and organisation structure
- Updating employee information
- Running promotions, transfers, rehires, or terminations
- Submitting time off requests on someone's behalf
- Adjusting time off balances and entitlements
- Checking who's out over a date range
You don't need to learn any special commands — just ask for what you want.
Important Notice: This is an early version of MCP, so things may still be evolving. Want access? Just email us at support@omnihr.co or reach out to your account manager — access isn't automatic and depends on your subscription's eligibility.

Sample prompts
Not sure what to ask? Here are examples grouped by what you're trying to do. Copy-paste any of these into your AI chat, swapping in real names and dates.
Getting Omni HR's attention. Sometimes your assistant will answer from its own general knowledge instead of actually reaching into Omni HR — most likely when you've got a few other tools connected and it isn't sure which one you mean. Easy fix: start your message by greeting it with the name you gave the connection during setup. Named it Omni HR? Open with "Hi OmniHR, find Alice Tan." Called it something else? Use that — "Hi Robin, who's off next week?" Once it's reached into Omni HR in that chat, you can drop the greeting and just keep asking.
