Overview:

Off-In-Lieu is a time off policy often implemented by most companies. We'll learn in this article the best way to go about them in the current version of Omni HR.

What is Off-In-Lieu?

  • Off-In-Lieu is a time off policy usually implemented as one where employees get additional time off balance if they work on a holiday or a rest day.
    • Usually, it is separate from the Annual/Vacation Leave policy. But there are still some companies that just implement this in the Annual/Vacation Leave policy.

How do you implement Off-In-Lieu in Omni HR?

  • To implement an Off-In-Lieu policy in Omni, follow the steps below. Note that these steps are applicable to an Off-In-Lieu policy that is separate from the Annual/Vacation Leave Policy.
  • First, create a time off policy (can be named Off-In-Lieu), and set the Amount Entitled to 0.

    • Period, Granted At, and Proration fields don't matter so you can choose any in these fields.
  • Assign the time off policy to an/all employee/s. If you want to grant an employee a time off balance because he/she worked during a holiday/rest day, just go to his/her profile > Time Off tab > select the Off-In-Lieu time off type > positively adjust the balance.
  • Repeat the last step for other employees.
    • If you want to manually adjust for multiple employees at once, you can follow the steps to do so through this article.
