To ensure that geotagging works correctly, users must grant location access. Without permission, GPS coordinates will not be recorded. Please note that geotagging only captures your location at the moment you clock in and clock out. It does not continuously track your movements or compromise your privacy.
How Location Permission Works
When geotagging is enabled, users clocking in or out through the Attendance Widget (on the Homepage or Attendance tab). They will be prompted to allow Omni to access their device’s location.
This prompt will only appear if permission hasn’t already been granted.
Users can also enable or adjust location permissions manually through their device or browser settings.
For Web Browser
In Chrome, the permission prompt appears at the top left of the browser. Other browsers may display this request differently.
For Android
If location permission is denied, users will not be able to clock in or out when geotagging is active. A clear error message will appear, guiding them to update their location settings before proceeding.
User denies location?
If a user denies location access, they will not be able to clock in or out while geotagging is enabled. In this case, the system will display an error message with instructions to update their location settings.
