Geotagging is currently available on:
Support for iOS is coming in a future update. |
Overview:
Tracking attendance accurately is important, especially for remote or mobile teams. Geotagging helps by capturing the user’s location when they clock in or out. It records this as GPS coordinates, which are then converted into a nearby address.
What affects accuracy:
The device’s GPS hardware
The type of internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
Whether the device is up to date
Omni’s geotagging uses your device’s location services. If the device is old or location permissions are off, the location might not be recorded correctly.
We recommend:
Keep devices and operating systems updated
Turn on Location Services and allow access for the Omni app or browser
Turn off VPNs when using a browser, as they can affect location accuracy

How to Ensure Employee Grant Permissions
To ensure that geotagging works correctly, users must grant location access. Without permission, GPS coordinates will not be recorded. Please note that geotagging only captures your location at the moment you clock in and clock out. It does not continuously track your movements or compromise your privacy.
